A whole football grass field system does not only contains artificial grass, usually it is consisted by the following components:
1 Base Foundation---usually there are three popular models, Asphalt Base, Concrete Base and Crushed Stone Base.
2 Cushioning Pad/Shock Pad---aims to absorb impact and increase the ball rebound rates.
3 Artificial Grass---Artificial Grass is also consist by yarn, backing and glue.
4 Sand Infills---After the artificial grass installed, it need infills silica sand for first layer, the function is to fix the grass on the base.
5 Rubber Infills---After sand infills finished, it need second infills layer of rubber granule, it has two functions, firstly is to protect the players, second is to maintain the field chracteristics in a certain rate.
What chracteristics should a football filed system have?
According to FIFA Labsports, the field chracteristics are mainly contains:
1 Football vertical rebound rate
2 Football angled rebound rate
3 Football rolling rate
4 Rotating resistance
5 Shock absorption
6 Deformation
7 Linear Friction
What is a good football field system?
A good field system should have the all above chracteristics, the above chracteristics are in a certain range, they exist alone, but restrict each other. Please attention: It does not mean that the filed system is better if put more rubber/sand infills or if buy more higher artificial grass. Usually after all infills finished, the free grass on the top is 10mm-15mm. Here is a table for the suitable infills quantity with different grass height:
